As I Was Saying……..

March 20, 2014

Life resumed.

Back on the road.

Jammed in the Kit Fox RV park off the I-5 on our way back to Death Valley.

When we last left for Death Valley on Christmas Day, the plan was that our bathroom would get remodeled while we were gone. How the heavens must have laughed and pulled up chairs to watch us learn a Rule of Life that we had learned before but forgotten: remodeling is what married people do when they wonder what it might be like to go through a divorce.

We returned home for a brief–so we thought–interruption of our trip to celebrate Dah Mama’s 91st birthday and admire our new bathroom. Not a chance! Almost nothing had been done in our 4 weeks away.

So now, nearly 2 months later, we’re back on our way to the desert. The vanity top that was special ordered came in flawed. Didn’t anyone notice the entire 72″ of counter had blue pinstripes running in three parallel waves the length of the black surface??? Of course not–pinstriping must be the new trend–NOT.
Since the days are warmer, the dogs needed their rattlesnake vaccines updated. And rabies. We’re good to go. And while we’re at it, I think a new lens for wildflowers might be just the ticket.
We only made three hours our first day–we’re out of shape and wanted to kick back with a couple of coldies and enjoy finally being on the road again. I will try to blog better this time around. But, in the meantime, I’ll post some photos from what we were doing before life interrupted us with a bathroom remodel.
